Three-time Emmy Winner Sarah Brown (Claudia) has been vocal about her ongoing desire to explore opportunities outside of daytime. But there’s one thing she wants even more. Will GENERAL HOSPITAL writers give it to her?

“My contract will be up January 14, 2009,” Brown confided at her recent fan gathering. “I can’t speak to what happens after that.” Although frustrated with the rocky start that her character got during the writer’s strike last winter, Brown has full confidence that head-writer Robert Guza Jr. Has good ideas in store for the future. “He’s been able to communicate with me his plans for Claudia,” she offers, although still unsure of her own ability to play them.

“Really, it just all depends on what’s going on in my life at the time, what story they pitch to me to play, and whom I get to play it with.” But if the actress gets her wish, Claudia will get a love interest that will be too intense to walk away from. “I would love to work with Tyler Christopher (Nikolas) through the rest of my run on GH,” she reveals. “And that’s no secret. I let everyone at GH know that, and gave it my push.”

After sharing just a few scenes with Nikolas’ portrayer after Claudia was stabbed, Brown experienced their magic firsthand. “What I learned from that experiment is that opposites attract sometimes, and I felt that our energy as actors really balanced each other,” she confides. “So I just really enjoy Tyler’s style. I love working with him, and I think the two characters’ family backgrounds make a lot of sense together.”
